Ogilvy Malaysia's creative director Jarrod Reginald (pictured left) is leaving the agency at the end of this month, after nearly three years with the agency. Meanwhile, Maharis Azman (pictured right) has left the agency as creative director after approximately eight months in the role, according to his LinkedIn.

Last year, Reginald took on the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day duties of the creative department alongside creative director Pashyn Sethna, after former deputy ECD Donevan Chew left for BBDO. Reginald rejoined the agency in 2016 from  BBDO/Proximity Malaysia. According to his LinkedIn, he was previously with Ogilvy from 2007 to 2013 and also worked at Geometry Global.

Meanwhile, Maharis will focus on his agency known as The Makmal, which specialises in user experience, creative innovation, digital product design, mixed reality XR and social media management, among others. According to his LinkedIn, he joined in September last year and worked on U Mobile and UEM Sunrise.

Prior to starting up his role with Ogilvy, he was the associate creative director at APD for more than a year and also worked at agencies including TBWA, Wunderman, BBDO and Tribal DDB prior to its merger with Naga DDB in 2016.

Ogilvy Malaysia is also witnessing a string of departures from its creative and account servicing departments. A+M understands the individuals comprise full-time and part-time employees and form less than 5% of the agency's headcount, which currently stands at approximately 110 employees. In an exclusive statement to A+M , Ogilvy Malaysia's spokesperson said: "We would just like to acknowledge that they are moving on. Some of them are from creative, while a few are from account servicing. We wish them all the best for their future endeavours."

The departures happen to coincide with Ogilvy's recent split with J. Walter Thompson in Malaysia, nine months after  the agencies combined resources under a single leadership team. Ogilvy is now led by co-chief executives Nizwani Shahar and Campbell Cannon, who are tasked to drive the agency's next phase of growth and creative leadership. It also appointed Kurt Novack as group executive creative director for Ogilvy Malaysia.

The agency's creative remit was previously under former chief creative officer for Ogilvy ASEAN Ajab Samrai, after Gavin Simpson's departure from Ogilvy Malaysia as chief creative officer. Samrai was fired late last year over misconduct issues.
