Dow Jones has appointed Elgen Kua as its director of communications, APAC, based in Singapore. Kua (pictured) is responsible for shaping and developing region-specific communications and clear channel strategies for the APAC region as part of Dow Jones’s corporate communications team. This includes leading thought leadership strategies, media relations and employee communications.
He was most recently with South China Morning Post as director of corporate communications where he headed its efforts out of the Hong Kong and Singapore offices. He developed publicity campaigns that profiled SCMP ’s leadership in the news publishing business and drove the company’s corporate narrative to strengthen its brand, mission and purpose.
Kua has more than 20 years of experience in media and communications to his role having worked in news publishing, sports broadcasting, media rights consultancy and government sectors. He previously held senior roles at MP & Silva as director of marketing and communications, and assistant director of corporate communications at Fox International Channels and ESPN STAR Sports.
According to his LinkedIn, Kua is well versed in corporate communications, public affairs, issues management and stakeholder engagement that drives the promotion of corporate branding and industry leadership. He also has experience managing strategic and meaningful communication campaigns around brands, people, and products.
