VCCP Singapore has appointed TBWA\'s former head of cultural intelligence, Belynda Sim, as its APAC head of strategy. Prior to VCCP Singapore, Sim was the head of cultural intelligence at TBWA\ for six years. Under her leadership, Sim drove a suite of brands largely focused on Millennials and post-Millennials.
Sim also helmed Backslash APAC, an editorial and cultural strategy start-up within the TBWA\ creative network. Meanwhile, VCCP Singapore's CEO, Craig Mapleston welcomed Sim to the team. "Her attitude and past work show that she brings a true challenger approach - finding fresh opportunities for brands undergoing transformation. And her great cultural understanding of what inspires consumers in APAC will be of enormous benefit to our team and clients," Mapleston explained. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to VCCP Singapore for additional information regarding Sim's appointment.
Separately, VCCP Singapore recently appointed Kelvin Lim as head of art as well. The appointment comes following new business wins at the start of the year and strong ongoing growth for the agency. The appointment also allows the agency to provide more for existing clients as well as seasoned mentorship to develop the existing creative team. Lim’s appointment, alongside Guy Futcher’s recent appointment as creative director, adds additional seniority to the team, which includes Hook and Shervin Seah, associate creative director.
